Samsung led the global smartphone market in February, overtaking Apple. This is reported by BusinessKorea.

Media journalists referred to Counterpoint Research data, according to which in February Samsung took a share of 21.1 percent in the global smartphone market, an increase of 3.5 percent. Thus, the Korean corporation regained its leadership, ahead of Apple - the latter received a share of 20.2 percent, a decrease compared to January was 0.7 percent.

Analysts also cited the reason for Samsung's success: they said strong sales are due to the release of the Galaxy S23 line of smartphones. Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo also made it to the top 5, with Chinese manufacturers accounting for 11.5, 8.9, and 8.2 percent of the market.

In just the second month of 2023, smartphone manufacturers shipped 89.57 million units to the market. This is 10 percent less than in January and 15 percent less than the same period a year earlier. “Smartphone sales in major markets around the world declined in February,” Counterpoint concluded.

In early March, Counterpoint Research analysts said that 8 of the 10 best-selling smartphones of 2022 belong to Apple. The iPhone 13 was the most popular device last year.
