The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has decided not to hold its traditional E3 show this year. It is reported by the publication IGN.

As it became known to media correspondents, ESA representatives sent out a notice to their members that E3 2023 will not take place. Two sources of the publication confirmed that they had received a corresponding letter from the association.

The notice states that while the world's largest gaming expo, E3, "remains our favorite event and brand," the planned 2023 event did not generate "sustained interest." In this regard, ESA decided to cancel the exhibition.

After IGN became aware of the event's cancellation, ReedPop's Kyle Marsden-Kish, who also worked on the exhibit, commented on the incident. “It was a difficult decision because of all the effort we and our partners put into making this event possible, but we had to do what is right for the industry and for E3,” said Kyle Marsden-Kish.

E3 2023 was supposed to take place from June 13 to 16. In 2020, the event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, in 2021 the Electronic Entertainment Expo was held online.

At the end of January, IGN sources reported that Sony and Microsoft refused to take part in the E3 gaming exhibition. Also, Nintendo, which usually attended the event regularly, refused to participate.
