By the end of 2023, several engineering units and formations of military districts will receive a novelty at once - the Farming remote mining engineering system. On Friday, March 31, Izvestia writes, citing sources in the Russian Defense Ministry.

The installation looks like a multiple launch rocket system and (MLRS) works on the same principle: it fires rockets of 122 mm caliber. However, when they hit the ground, they do not explode, but burrow and immediately cocked into a combat position. The flight range of ammunition is from 5 to 15 km. With one salvo, the system can cover an area comparable to the area of several football fields. The combat vehicle is equipped with a satellite navigation system, a computer and a weather station.

According to the interlocutors of the publication, over the two years of operation, the system proved to be excellent both in exercises and in combat work. Although earlier there were certain doubts about the need to adopt it into service with the Russian army.
