Swedish far-right politician Rasmus Paludan said in a Twitter video that he would burn the Koran in Wakefield in the UK.

“On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the beginning of Ramadan, I will come to Wakefield and burn the Koran in a public place,” he said in the video.

According to him, his action is aimed "to show the presence of" non-democratic forces "in the country."

He also promised to burn the Koran outside the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen.

After Rasmus Paludan burned a Koran outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm earlier this year, mass protests against Sweden erupted in the country.

In February, the police in Stockholm did not allow the burning of the Koran in front of the Iraqi embassy.
