The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, said that Poland's participation in the conflict in Ukraine would mean the unleashing of a third world war by NATO. He announced this in his Telegram channel, commenting on the statement of the Polish Ambassador to France.

“The direct participation of Poland in the Ukrainian conflict, whether it is with the defeat of Kyiv or before its capitulation, will mean the unleashing of a third world war by NATO. The truth, which cannot be misunderstood in the capitals of the member countries of the alliance,” the message says.

He also added that such a scenario does not attract the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance, since the Polish embassy denied these statements.

The day before, Polish Ambassador to France Jan Emerik Rosciszewski said that if the Kyiv authorities fail to defend their country on the battlefield, the Polish army will have to enter into direct confrontation with Russia.

Later, the Polish embassy explained the diplomat's words about Warsaw's readiness to enter into conflict with the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, in an interview with Corriere della Sera, said that Russia's defeat in the conflict in Ukraine became the "reason for existence" for Poland and all of Europe.
