White House: US considers truce in Ukraine unacceptable at the moment
White House spokesman John Kirby said that the United States currently considers a truce in Ukraine unacceptable. He told Fox News about it.
“If this meeting leads to any call for a truce, it will be unacceptable. Because it will only ratify Russia's gains by today and give Mr. Putin time to prepare new people and plan a new offensive at his convenience,” he said.
Earlier it was reported that the US administration believes that the President of Ukraine spoke “quite loudly” about proposals that he is not ready to consider in terms of resolving the conflict with Russia, and the White House does not intend to speak for the Ukrainian leadership on a ceasefire. This was stated by the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council John Kirby said.
The White House spokesman noted that the Ukrainian leader has recently "spoke loudly enough" that he does not support this move.
