In January, the publication noticed that an infrared search and tracking system sensor was installed in front of the cockpit lantern of the Turkish advanced fifth-generation fighter TF-X, and an electro-optical guidance system under the nose.

In the same month, Temel Kotil, CEO of Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii (TUSAŞ), announced on CNN Türk that the Turkish fifth-generation fighter would make its first flight before the end of 2023.
