The Ukrainian side has published previously unknown footage of the battles on Zmeiny Island.

On May 7, 2022, a combined detachment of the 10th Special Forces Brigade of the Main Intelligence Directorate and Unit A of the SBU, under the cover of boats, a Bayraktar TB2 UAV and a Mi-8 helicopter, landed on an island occupied by the Russian military in the Black Sea. A fierce battle ensued with losses on both sides. The result - the enemy retreated, taking the wounded and leaving the dead.
