Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that the geopolitical situation in the world had worsened even before the conflict in Ukraine began. The diplomat said this after a meeting of the Bureau for the Coordination of Security Services, RIA Novosti reports.

The day before, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the issuance of an arrest warrant by the Hague International Criminal Court (ICC) for Russian President Vladimir Putin is a step towards the largest conflict in human history.

According to Dacic, if earlier it was about the Cold War, today one can see the emergence of an armed conflict between world powers. In such an environment, Serbia should think about how to ensure its security and stability, the diplomat noted.

“The Bureau for the Coordination of Security Services gives unlimited support to President Aleksandar Vučić when it comes to great pressure from abroad or from actors in our country. We also give great support when it comes to the process of negotiations with the provisional structures in Pristina,” Dacic said.

On March 17, the Pre-trial Chamber of the ICC issued an arrest warrant for the Russian President and Ombudsman for Children Maria Lvova-Belova due to possible involvement in “illegal deportation and displacement of the population, in particular children,” from Ukraine to the Russian Federation. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin considers the decision of the ICC null and void and is outraged by the very posing of this issue.
