Turkish and Egyptian Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi may meet after the Turkish elections on May 14. This is reported by the TV channel TRT.

On May 14, presidential and parliamentary elections are planned in the country.

The information was confirmed by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu following talks with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri.

“We are carrying out preparatory work for the meeting of our presidents. It may take place soon after the elections in Turkey,” Cavusoglu.

Other details of the future meeting between Erdogan and al-Sisi have not yet been given.

Earlier it was reported that the leader of the Turkish opposition, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, bypasses Erdogan in polls ahead of the elections. It is expected that if this trend continues, Kılıçdaroğlu may become the winner of the elections and replace Erdogan, who has been in power for 20 years in various posts.

The media also reported that the Turkish opposition considers Kılıçdaroğlu's victory over Erdogan in the first round of the presidential election to be possible.
